The Zamfara lecturer and his son regained freedom after a month in bandits' captivity.

 

Malam Aliyu Damri, who once headed the Mass Communication Department at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, and his son, Ahmad, have been freed from bandits after a month in captivity.

 

Bandits abducted Damri along with his son and six other people at his residence in Bakura town, the headquarters of Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State on January 23, 2025.

 

Around 2:00am on January 23, 2025, the terrorists besieged the town and started shooting randomly.

 

The gunmen embarked on a house-to-house search and evicted animals, including goats, sheep, and cows.

 

Family members and colleagues confirmed the release of the father and son on Thursday, February 20, but did not mention the fate of other victims.
