The reinstatement of LG chairmen led to clashes between APC and PDP in Osun, where two were feared to be shot.

According to reports, two people were shot in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State on Monday. The reinstatement of council executives led to clashes between members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The crisis stemmed from a dispute between Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, over the return of sacked APC executives to office after their reinstatement by the Court of Appeal.

According to The Nation's checks, APC executives returned to work early on Monday and celebrated their reinstatement, boasting about retaking control of the council.

Upon leaving the council premises, they were ambushed by PDP members, resulting in gunfire that resulted in the injury of two people.

The Amotekun Corps security personnel arrived at the scene later, but APC members reportedly refused their help.

In Osogbo, APC members took over the secretariat at Oke-Baale area but after a while, an aide of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Special Adviser on Political Matter, Muniru Raji mobilised against APC members which were resisted.

Teslim Igbalaye, who is the Secretary to the State Government, later moved more PDP members to the council, which led to the APC being removed from the council. There was a fight between council members that resulted in gunshots.

In Ife Central, APC members resumed the council and PDP protested against the action, which caused heavy gridlock along the Ibadan/Ikire expressway.

The Obokun council was filled with tension as both APC and PDP members stood in front of it, which is secured with keys.

APC members in Irewole were prevented from returning to office by PDP members who stood at the council to prevent any invasion.

The former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye, led the resumption of the APC council executives into the office in Ilesa East.

Babatunde Komolafe, an ex-lawmaker, led the resumption of APC executives in Atakunmosa West.

The entrance of the secretariat in Olorunda was secured heavily with scores of PDP members, and Gani Olaoluwa, the Commissioner for Rural Development, was in charge.
