Rio Ferdinand, a football legend, expresses his worries about Man United's potential relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

Rio Ferdinand, the legendary Manchester United player, has spoken out about the club's potential relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

Following the Red Devils' disappointing loss at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, the former centre-back expressed his fears.

Ruben Amorim's men have dropped to 15th place in the Premier League table after James Maddison scored the only goal in United's 1-0 defeat by Spurs, who have also endured a challenging campaign.

However, with 29 points after 25 games, and 31 points behind leaders Liverpool, the Red Devils are now only two spots above the relegation zone, sitting narrowly ahead of West Ham and Wolves.

Ferdinand expressed his concerns about a possible shock drop to the Championship for his former team during his YouTube channel podcast.

According to him, Manchester United are currently experiencing severe difficulties. Wolves and West Ham are the only clubs that exclude my club from the relegation spots. Do you realize we're that close?

One person suggested that we need 11 points to stay up, and I'm starting to believe that. The fixture list is in my possession and I'm actively watching the game. My seriousness is evident. Review it.

'Everton away, Ipswich at home, Arsenal, Forest away, Man City, Newcastle away, Wolves, Brentford, Brighton, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Leicester.

The Premier League has seen United suffer their 12th defeat this season. The historic club experienced eight losses under the new manager Ruben Amorim, who joined in November 2024.

The only place I potentially see us getting anything - and I'm not even saying a win - is Leicester. We've slapped up Leicester a couple of times already this season, so we've got their number,' added Ferdinand.

Usually, when looking at the fixture list, you can see where the points are coming from.

We just looked at the fixture list and I'm not seeing any outright wins. I'm not looking at it thinking there are three points here and three points there. This is the issue.
