Porsha Williams' estranged Nigerian husband, Simon Guobadia, has been detained by ICE for deportation.

American TV personality Porsha Williams' estranged husband Simon Guobadia has been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The Nigerian-born businessman is currently incarcerated at Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia, as stated by the U.S Department of Homeland Security records.

Guobadia was taken into ICE custody amid President Trump’s mass deportation plan, which he signed into effect with several executive orders last month after he returned to the Oval Office for his second term.

It is believed that the 60-year-old, who migrated from Nigeria to the United States in 1982, overstayed his visa. He was declared deportable in 1985, according to Atlanta's WSB-TV 2.

In 1987, Guobadia was arrested for committing bank and credit card fraud. In 1992, he was deported to Nigeria after being arrested twice more. Nonetheless, he was able to come back a month later.

In 2016, the reality TV star made an application for citizenship. He was denied by the U.S. government because his previous status was granted illegally.

In an effort to become a naturalized citizen, Guobadia has filed multiple complaints and appeals. Despite his efforts, he has not been successful.

Williams requested a divorce from Guobadia in the same month, after nearly 15 months of marriage. In November 2022, the two got married.

An ongoing legal battle has been ongoing between the two since then. Williams won a legal victory in September when a judge ruled in her favor regarding the prenuptial agreement between them.

In November, court documents showed that Williams had been granted temporary sole possession of their marital residence and given her the “unrestricted right to film and produce television, film or social media” in the home.
