Political rivalries are not real, they're simply entertaining. - Fayemi

Dr. Kayode Fayemi, who used to be the Governor of Ekiti State, has downplayed the perceived animosity between Nigerian politicians, calling it entertainment for the people.

Speaking during his 60th birthday thanksgiving service at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Isan Ekiti on Sunday, Fayemi dismissed the notion of genuine political hatred, especially those amplified by social media.

“So, all these things you read on social media are for your entertainment,” he said. There will be many questions about why Governor Segun Oni is here. During his birthday, I spent the entire day with him, and I wouldn't hesitate to see Governor Ayodele Fayose if he was around.

Fayemi stated that political differences or party affiliations do not cause animosity, especially among politicians from Ekiti State. The vision we have always had is a state that will not be divided by political division. We might belong to different political parties, but there is one party that we collectively belong to—that is the Ekiti Party, Ekiti Progressive Party—and our governor is carrying on with that,” he said.
