Police launched a manhunt for the fleeing female companion of the officer who was found d3ad in an Ogun hotel.
The Ogun State Police Command has launched a manhunt for an unidentified woman after a police officer, Inspector Haruna Mohammed, was found d3ad in a hotel at Anthony Uzum Estate, Oyeyemi Akute.
The deceased officer serving with the Ishashi Division of the Lagos State Police Command and the woman arrived at Super G Hotel at around 1:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
On Sunday, Omolola Odutola, the spokeswoman for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the punch incident and informed that the woman fled shortly afterwards.
After a few hours, the officer's body was discovered in the room under mysterious circumstances.
At 8:52 am, the hotel manager reportedly discovered the door to the room being unlocked. Upon inspection, they came across the officer's body.
The fleeing woman allegedly visited the reception around 6:00 am to request a bottle of tap water before disappearing.
Mohammed's d3ath has been referred to by the police as 'unnatural'.
“At first, only a uniform was found in his bag, so it was not immediately possible to confirm he was a police officer. There was no identification card on him or among his belongings,” the PPRO stated.
It was revealed through further investigation that the deceased was an inspector of police employed at the Ishashi Division in the Lagos Command. The DPO was contacted and his body was identified. A manhunt has been initiated for the woman who is fleeing.
