Enugu police arrested two individuals for armed robbery.

 



Operatives of the 9th Mile Division of Enugu State Police Command have arrested two male suspects on allegations of armed robbery.

 

On February 6, 2025, the operatives arrested Chime Valentine Chidiebere and Alior Jideofor Kenechukwu based on credible intelligence.

 

They recovered a daylong motorcycle allegedly taken from their victim, three locally fabricated guns with two live cartridges, and three locally fabricated guns.

 

Confirming their arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, said police preliminary investigation revealed that on January 5, 2025, the suspects boarded a commercial motorcycle from Okwojo Ngwo to Amokwe Ngwo, both in Udi local government area of Enugu and along the way, stopped and shot the rider in the left thigh, and fled with his motorcycle.

 

However, the police officers, leveraging intelligence, located and arrested the suspects, and recovered the stolen motorcycle, firearms, and ammunition.

 

According to Ndukwe, the victim is currently recovering from the gunshot wound.

 

He added that an investigation is ongoing to arrest the suspects’ accomplices who are on the run and that the two suspects already in custody will be arraigned at the conclusion of investigations.
