April 15 is the date set for the hearing in Ganduje's bribery trial by the court.
A high court in Kano has scheduled April 15, 2025, for the hearing of preliminary objections in the corruption case against Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ganduje, his wife Hafsat, son Umar Abdullahi Umar, and five others have been charged with eight counts by the Kano state government. Bribery, misappropriation, and diversion of public funds are among the charges. The other defendants in the case are Abubakar Bawuro, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.
During the court session on Thursday, February 13, the state's counsel, Adeola Adedipe, indicated her readiness to proceed with the applications. Lawyers representing Ganduje and some co-defendants demonstrated their preparedness, while others asked for extra time to perfect their submissions.
The applications for an extension of time were granted by Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu and the case was delayed until April 15, when all pending preliminary objections will be addressed.
