An official for FIFA, who is 39 years old, was taken into custody for arranging to meet a 14-year-old boy for s3x.

It has been reported that a British FIFA official was arrested in the United States while on a work trip for supposedly planning to meet a 14-year-old boy for s3xual purposes.

According to reports, federal agents detained Jack Edward Coles, 39, at a Miami hotel after he attempted to meet the child last week.

FIFA acknowledged the case, but stated that it was a 'personal matter' that was not linked to Coles' work as a project lead at FIFA Sound. The governing body made it clear that Coles has been suspended with immediate effect.

According to The Miami Herald, the Brit, who works at the organisation's headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, allegedly met the boy on the dating app Grindr in October last year and engaged in s£xual activity with him in a hotel.

The report goes on to cite the arrest complain which states that while Coles did not know the boy was 14, the teen did tell him he was 16-years-old when they chatted before their first encounter.

FIFA, the world's leading football governing body, stated in a statement on Wednesday that it is aware of the legal proceedings currently taking place in Miami. The serious offenses are a matter of personal concern and have no connection to his work at FIFA.

The individual has been suspended with immediate effect and cannot perform all duties until further notice. FIFA hasn't made any further comments at this time.

According to the Herald report, Coles first contacted the teenager on Instagram on October 10 and requested that he come to the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables.

It was reported that Coles told the boy: 'I don't want to break any laws' after being informed that he was 16. However, according to the complaint, the Brit allegedly later ordered an Uber to bring the boy to his hotel, bought him a White Claw alcoholic beverage, and engaged in sexual activity with him.

After the encounter, Coles was said to have expressed his desire to see the boy again.

The FIFA official was detained last week after arranging to meet the boy again, not realizing that federal agents were watching him.

According to the report, the teenager's Instagram account was under the control of Homeland Security agents when he messaged the boy on February 2, saying: 'I'm back Wednesday to Saturday So I see u.'

Coles was taken into custody after a federal agent showed up at the Uber he had arranged to pick up the boy. According to the complaint, he was 'naked except for a shirt' at the time.

According to the charges, he enticed a minor to engage in sexual activities and traveled to the US with the intention of engaging in illicit sexual conduct with a minor.

According to The Sun, Coles was detained at the Federal Detention Centre in Miami before being released.
