A lawyer recounts an encounter where he was confronted by a man who insisted that his new wife change her signature to include her maiden name.
A lawyer has shared an experience with a married man who brought his wife to change her maiden name and signature.
According to the lawyer, the man came with his wife and requested an affidavit to alter her name at the bank. He demanded that his wife remove her father's name and replace it with his.
The lawyer recounted how the man continued to speak over his wife, acting as if she was not present. When the lawyer informed the man of the requirements, including the financial costs, he recalled his wife and asked her to pay.
After the payment was made and the affidavit was drafted, the new spouse was given the opportunity to sign. Upon seeing her signature that included her maiden name, the husband demanded that she change it too.
According to the lawyer, she intervened and requested that the man keep his wife's signature, but he refused to change it as well.
"No! Can't you see her father's name is in that signature? She has to remove," the husband insisted, according to the lawyer.
After the lawyer informed him of the financial consequences, he reluctantly allowed the wife to retain her signature.
Take a look at the lawyer's narration below.
