A Florida woman tracked down her ex-boyfriend and shot her married girlfriend in the face days after breaking up.

A Florida woman was arrested for shooting a female passenger in a car driven by her ex-boyfriend shortly after they broke up.

Latorray Collins, 38, was taken into custody by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Sunday, Feb. 16, and she is still there as of Thursday, Feb. 20.

Inmate records indicate that Collins has been charged with attempted murd3r in the second degree.

Collins and her ex-boyfriend broke up just days prior, according to an arrest affidavit from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office reported by the Miami Herald.

First Coast News reported that Collins' ex-boyfriend admitted to having an intimate relationship with the married victim.

Latasha Taylor, who is 42 years old, was identified by family members as the victim.

On the day of the incident, Collins allegedly called and texted her ex’s phone repeatedly for him to come and pick up his things from her home, however, he instructed her to throw them away instead, the Miami Herald reports.

According to a report, the ex-boyfriend was driving Taylor's car on Saturday, Feb. 15 when Collins started calling him again. According to reports, he stopped at a liquor store with Taylor and some of her family members instead of responding.

While the group was driving separately, Collins reportedly caught up to her ex at a red light and drove her vehicle ahead of Taylor's.

According to the Herald, the ex allegedly reversed and sped past Collins' car, but she was able to catch up once more at another stoplight, citing police.

Collins was accused of exiting her vehicle and starting to knock on Taylor's car window, which prompted Taylor to inquire about Collins' identity. After that, there was a verbal confrontation.

Collins' ex told police that he heard a loud noise before Taylor fell to the ground. At the scene, a.380 caliber shell was found.

Tony Taylor, the victim's husband, shared his thoughts with Action News Jax, stating that the couple was planning to celebrate their 15th anniversary together before Latasha was shot in the head.

“She met me when I was going through a tough time in my life. She showed me how much she cares about people. I was at rock bottom, and she saved my life,” Tony said in an interview.

“The shooter was arguing with a male that was in the car. My wife got out to try to diffuse the situation and just leave and that’s when the girl shot her,” Tony continued.

It was reported by Latasha's family that she is making progress.

“She wasn’t supposed to make it past Saturday, but she’s still holding on for us,” Tony told the news station.

Collins is currently awaiting trial and is scheduled to attend the Duval County Courthouse on March 11.
